Write This Down… LiDAR will be measuring all homes in the United States by 2030. Pretty bold claim with so many voices remaining against this technology. At the end of all the discussions, the better mouse trap will take over the market. Coming from an MLS system largely filled with tax records, and 40% of all appraisal reports filled with that same tax data, it’s no wonder the GSEs have gone in search of a better way to gather square footage. Square footage provides the currency of real estate and this industry has been doing a bad job of providing quality data.
